Enjoy three singer-songwriters performing in the round!
GUY DAVIS
Guy Davis is a two-time, back-to-back Grammy nominee for Best Traditional Blues, a musician, actor, author, and songwriter. Guy uses a blend of roots, blues, folk, rock, rap, spoken word, and world music to comment on, and address, the frustrations of social injustice, touching on historical events, and common life struggles. His background in theater is pronounced through the lyrical storytelling of songs “God’s Gonna Make Things Over” about the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, “Welcome to My World”, and “Got Your Letter In My Pocket”. His storytelling is sometimes painful, deep, and real, an earthy contrast to modern-day commercial music, meant to create thought, underlined by gentle tones from his guitar or banjo fingerpicking.
Guy won “Keeping The Blues Alive” Award, and was nominated by The Blues Foundation for Best Acoustic Album of the Year, Best Acoustic Artist of the Year, and Best Instrumentalist. In fact, he’s been nominated nearly two dozen times by the Blues Foundation. When asked about his experience as a performer, Guy has replied, “There is no tale so tall that I cannot tell it, nor song so sweet that I cannot sing it.”
PETE MULLER
Pete Muller is a pianist/singer-songwriter with six solo albums to his name, including 2024’s “More Time.” He frequently performs with his band, Pete Muller and the Kindred Souls.
Driven by his passion for music, Pete founded the non-profit Live Music Society, which supports small independent music venues. He also played a pivotal role in a groundbreaking public-private-nonprofit partnership that saved and transformed the iconic Power Station into a premier recording and educational facility in New York City.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Pete has a knack for math and puzzles. He has created over a dozen crossword puzzles for the New York Times and constructs a monthly music-themed meta crossword contest in the Washington Post.
Pete is the Founder and CEO of PDT Partners, a global investment manager devoted to quantitative research and trading, established in 1992. He resides in Santa Barbara, CA, with his wife, two teenage children, and three mischievous dogs.
CASSANDRA KUBINSKI
Billboard-charting singer/songwriter Cassandra Kubinski has performed from stadiums to living rooms, from Romania to LA, sharing stages with the likes of the Goo Goo Dolls, 10,000 Maniacs, Sawyer Fredericks, Anna Nalick and others. Known for her piano-forward, cutting songwriting that takes listeners from vulnerable canyons to witty sharp peaks, her songs have been heard on Sirius XM, Lifetime’s “Dance Moms” and dozens of other TV shows, NBC promos and more. She’s also a tireless artist and womxn in arts advocate, holding board positions at Caffe Lena and Women in Music (emeritus), and regularly leading artist-upleveling workshops and retreats for the likes of the Mechanical Licensing Collective, Mayor’s Office of NY, and Guitar Center.
Billy Joel says: “Cassandra Kubinski is very similar to the singer/songwriters of the late ’70s … proves that the genre (singer/songwriter) can still be transcendent.”
