Rick Danko performed consistently at The Towne Crier and was often joined by Professor Louie. To commemorate and honor this great Hall Of Fame musician and singer, Rick Danko of The Band, Professor Louie & The Crowmatix have put together a special concert to play The Songs of Rick Danko at The Towne Crier.
Professor Louie will be joined by his five- piece ensemble, The Crowmatix, and special guests.
The show will feature classic Band songs that Rick sang & played bass on, including “Stage Fright,” “Makes No Difference” and material Louie produced and recorded with Rick, such as “Blind Willie McTell,” “Crazy Mama,” “Book Faded Brown”; along with Rick’s original songs such as “Times Like These” and Rick’s co-write with Bob Dylan, “Wheels On Fire.”
Rick gave Louie the moniker “Professor Louie” due to his work with The Band and the individual members of The Band over more than 15 years, co-producing and performing on The Band’s last three CD’s & three Rick Danko solo recordings, “Live On Breeze Hill,” “In Concert” and “Times Like These.” Professor Louie toured the USA & Europe with The Rick Danko Band and played numerous duo shows.
Professor Louie & The Crowmatix has emerged in the music industry as the torchbearer of the true spirit of American roots music.
“With every performance Professor Louie & The Crowmatix once again show the world why they are truly roots music royalty.” Blues Festival Eguide
