Lucy Sante is the author of Low Life, Evidence, The Factory of Facts, Kill All Your Darlings, Folk Photography, The Other Paris, Maybe the People Would Be the Times, and Nineteen Reservoirs. Her awards include a Whiting Writers Award, an Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, a Grammy Award (for album notes), an Infinity Award from the International Center of Photography, and Guggenheim and Cullman Center fellowships. She recently retired after twenty-four years teaching at Bard College.

And introducing: Richard Eagan is an artist who founded the Coney Island Hysterical Society, an artist/activist group whose work had a key impact on the future of America’s iconic amusement beach. He and partner Philomena Marano have recently completed a memoir of the society and its legacy, Hysterical Coney Island: How a handful of Brooklyn artists helped save a New York City treasure.
Admission is free to this June 20 special edition for any ticket holder of Beacon LitFest@Howland Cultural Center (June 7,8,9). There is a suggested donation to non ticket holders to help defray costs of production. There is a $15 food/drink minimum per person.
