They’re back! Beacon Rising Choir is returning to the Towne Crier stage for the first time in 3 years, bringing an afternoon of music and joy to the community. Founded in 2017 as one of the many resistance choirs that grew out of the Women’s March, the choir performs a variety of styles and genres with an eye toward interesting, powerful, and artistic literature. Selections come primarily from female, LGBTQIA+, and BBIAPOC composers and arrangers that speak to the choirs’ ethos of social justice, compassionate community, and radical self-love.
This concert is a fundraiser for Compass Arts Creativity Project, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to create healthy, just, equitable, and resilient communities through arts-based classes, performances, and events rooted in exploration, collaboration, creation, and play.
