MAIA SHARP
also special guest
SETH GLIER
There's something haunting in the urgent sincerity Maia Sharp's voice possesses as she sings her intelligent but accessible lyrics & arrangements, leaving you wanting to hear her "just one more time." She was apparently born with such natural gifts, coming from a musical family, but it's also apparent she's not one to take anything for granted. Bonnie Raitt said "Maia is making some of the most innovative and soulful music around with songs that are head and shoulders above the rest. She has become one of my favorite artists."
Maia has seen more than two dozen of her songs recorded by artists that run the gamut of genres, from chart-topping pop artists to Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame-ers, including Bonnie Raitt, The Dixie Chicks, Art Garfunkel, Edwin McCain, Trisha Yearwood, David Wilcox, Cher, Kathy Mattea and Mindy Smith. Sharp has also collaborated with Carole King, Jules Shear, David Wilcox, Lisa Loeb, Mindy Smith, Howard Jones, The Go Go's, Billy Mann, Terri Clark, Paul Carrack, Keb' Mo' and many more.
"Sharp wields her crisp, alluring choruses like a temptress; listeners will surely be ensnared. Her tear soaked lyrics and high cresting melody conspire for a finely crafted lesson in invincible pop." -Billboard
More about Maia Sharp
Seth Glier's music grabs you ...if not with his powerful falsetto or his melodic prowess, then with what Performer Magazine calls his "intoxicating groove." The 20-year-old singer, pianist and guitarist – who abandoned studies at The Berklee School of Music after one year because he decided "I should be playing for people and not for grades" – aims straight for the gut on his debut, The Trouble With People.
"When it comes down to Seth's music, either you love it or you've never heard it before." -CD Baby
Raised on the music of Joni Mitchell, Martin Sexton and Jeff Buckley, Seth has drawn comparisons to Billy Joel, Marc Cohn, Gavin DeGraw, Elton John and Paul McCartney. But, Glier considers his brother to be his greatest influence: "My brother is autistic and non-verbal. I learned to communicate with words better once I realized how to communicate to someone without them."
Livingston Taylor says "Listening to Seth's music gives me hope for what's to come. The next generation is alive and well."
