CHRISTINE LAVIN

Christine Lavin’s songs are the sound tracks of American life nailing a goodly number of the realities and reversals that jam up our daily lives. With her liquid-silver voice and comic genius, Christine threads her wonderfully skewed songs into a smart and witty theatre-concert. She covers a great deal of territory: relationships (I Was In Love With A Difficult Man), life on the road (Strangers Talk To Me), social posturing (Trade-UP)! and pop culture (Tom Cruise Scares Me!) and MORE. She recently was the featured guest in the new Off Broadway hit DON’T QUIT YOUR NIGHT JOB, a funky mix of comedy improv and song featuring a core cast who host B’way guest stars. Her album-cookbook One Meat Ball, a funky collection of 19 food related songs with singer-songwriters recalling their favorite dishes, is now the basis of a new concert and 089 tour. Her next album, The Happy Dance of the Xenophobe, will be released this fall on Yellowtail Records. Christine is the creator and host of xm satellite radio’s SLIPPED DISCS featuring established as well as upcoming singer/songwriters from across the country who slip her their latest albums at her concerts. From her pre-show knitting circle to the final baton twirl, it’s a concert with a full service entertainer!
